How To Grow and Style Your Kid’s Afro Textured Curly Hair [Fast & Easy Hair Routine]

What is the best way to care for my kid’s natural curly hair?

As a professional braider, this is a question I get asked a lot by parents who bring their kids to me to get cornrows or box braids.

Sometimes parents with black and mixed race or biracial kids struggle to find the best hair care products and easy hair routines. Kids on the other hand might become irritable and nervous about getting their hair braided, combed, or styled because of the pain they might feel.

Recently, a lovely South African lady that I visit to style her daughter’s hair regularly said to me that after she took out her daughter’s cornrow braids after three weeks, her hair was really “LUSH & SOFT” and had grown longer.

Her secret? Moisture.

Moisture is so important to natural hair, and one of the best ways to add moisture to your child’s and your hair routine is by using good natural hair oils!

The use of oils for hair growth dates back many centuries and for good reason. Oils help promote healthy hair growth, stop breakage, repair damaged hair and helps soothe and relieve dry, itchy scalp.
